DOMEA: Dokumentenmanagement und Elektronische Archivierung

In consequence of a government decision aimed at the rationalisation of public authorities, the German Governmentís IT Coordination Office (KBSt) conducted the pilot project DOMEA (Document Management and Electronic Archiving in IT-supported Business Processes). DOMEAís objectives were the development and evaluation of an organisational concept for IT-supported transaction processing, the implementation of an electronic record, the selection of a pilot system for records management support, and recommendations for guidelines and technical specifications. The projectís main outcomes are the organisational concept and the records management system, both known under the name of DOMEA, but should not be confused.
